New Job Sustainability & Economics Manager @ICAEW

We are looking for a new Sustainability & Economics Manager @ICAEW.

This is a great job. It’s an opportunity to work within an ambitious team, on interesting projects, with a real opportunity to develop your research and thinking around economics and sustainability.

Our team sits within the Technical Strategy department of ICAEW and was founded seven years ago to provide thought leadership around sustainability and business. We have always looked at how markets work to drive sustainable outcomes. We create technical expertise and a new space for dialogue and action bringing together business and civil society.

We pride ourselves on being open-minded, radical and bold and we believe in independence of thought.

Our team co-founded and leads The Finance Innovation Lab, recent named as one of ’50 most Radical projects making Britain a better place’ by NESTA/The Observer. We also launched and lead the TEEB for Business Coalition with Pavan Sukhdev and have published thought leadership within our department from eminent thinkers like Hazel Henderson and Frijof Capra.

This is a great opportunity to share and develop your thinking in partnership with academics, business (our 138,000 members) and civil society leaders. Our business models means you won’t be required to fundraise for projects you work on and will be given the space and time to develop your thinking thoroughly.

This job would suit someone who;

  • Has an interesting/alternative perspective on economics and sustainability. We want a big thinker, who is willing challenge and push the boundaries of the debate
  • Is excellent at and passionate about writing and research.
  • Can hold their own in a technical debate. We work with a whole range of thinkers in the field of economics from Pavan Sukhdev to Tim Jackson to Graciela Chichilnisky. You need to know you’re stuff and relish the opportunity to share your thinking
  • Can work autonomously and within a team.

The job also offers the support and career development opportunities that come with a big organisation, like a healthy pension and salary.
